Introducing EMJ Respiratory 4.1

CHELMSFORD, U.K. - Oct. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Welcome to the latest edition of EMJ Respiratory, which contains updates and research on a range of topics from the field of respiratory health. Held in the city of London, UK, from 3^rd–7^th September, this year's ERS Congress utilised the topic of air pollution as a major discussion point. This year's congress was busier than ever, with 21,638 attendees and 4,100 abstracts presented. In the abstract reviews section, research on the topics of childhood wheeze, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and mediastinal adenopathy feature amongst many others.

There are also a number of high-quality peer-reviewed articles from across the field. Migliore discusses the recent advancements in the area of thoracic surgery and lung transplantation, and the possible impact these may have in the future. Gemine and Lewis consider the growing body of evidence that suggests smoking cessation should be prioritised in patients who have been diagnosed with lung cancer, and Sarkar analyses the epidemiology, diagnosis, and therapy of increased arterial stiffness in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients.
