"The Fatherhood Task Force applauds and values Fathers who find uninterrupted time to play, talk and read with their children in addition to making their safety and well-being a priority," stated Zwerling.
Most Valuable Father Award Winner Francois, 45, originally from Pétion-Ville, Haiti, has lived in the United States since July 2003. "My wife and my oldest daughter joined me in April 2004. My youngest daughter was born in Miami," Francois said.
Employed by Home Depot in North Miami Beach as a Sales Associate, Francois is also attending Miami Dade College with a goal of earning a master's degree in human rights law. "I am just three classes away from graduating with an AA in Pre-law," Francois proudly stated.
A father who is devoted to his two daughters, Francois, his wife and children live in Opa-Locka, FL. "The values that are most important to me in raising my children are respect, honesty, loyalty, caring, and love. My children are a priority for me," stated Francois.
Francois is a member of the Fatherhood Reading Squad, a program developed by the Fatherhood Task Force, encouraging father and male role models to read and talk to students in Pre-K-12 schools. Francois continued, "Going into their school to read to students is an opportunity for me to touch other children's lives, in addition to my own. My being involved brings a male role model into the educational system and provides balance in a child's life. The appreciation and emotional response I am getting back from the students makes me feel happy and encourages me to keep on doing it."
