The Painter's Apprentice - Highlighting art styles and platforming action
Luminosity Mobile, New York-based indie developers, offers a fresh take on the platforming genre with The Painter's Apprentice. Travel through eight different art styles and battle paint blobs. Currently on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight.
The game mixes platforming elements with action as players must traverse through puzzles and also defeat sentient enemy paint blobs. Along the way they will travel through eight different art styles. The game will also feature a brief mini biography on famous painters of these art movements.
Besides the pre-determined art styles, Luminosity Mobile also will include bonus levels that highlight recent artists from various backgrounds as a means to encourage more art appreciation.
Jasmine Greene, president of Luminosity Mobile, states, "We wanted to encourage our audience to have a better understanding of art in general. Not only do we include information on the various art styles, we've really centered the entire game around it. The background music for each level is based on when these art movements were popularized. Even the level design is based on the themes of these styles."

The Painter's Apprentice has already received accolades in the past few years as an official selection to MAGFest 2016 and Very Big Indie Pitch 2015.
Luminosity Mobile was set up in New York City in 2014 and is owned and operated by Jasmine Greene and Ray Flores. It has enjoyed early traction with both adults and children alike.
