Mulvihill Named Finalist In 13th Annual Stevie® Awards For Women In Business

BELLEFONTE, Pa. - Oct. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Maureen L. Mulvihill, President and CEO of Actuated Medical, Inc.(AMI), was named a Finalist in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year for businesses with 11 to 2,500 employees category in the 13th annual Stevie^® Awards for Women in Business, and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award winner in the program.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide.  The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world's premier business awards.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 18.  Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend.  The event will be broadcast on Livestream and the pre-show from the red carpet will be streamed on the Stevie Awards' Facebook feed.

More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year.  Mulvihill is a Finalist in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year category.

Mulvihill co-founded AMI to improve patient outcomes by developing innovative motion^® medical devices. She is responsible for the company's corporate vision and maintaining its vibrant culture. Directing the commercialization efforts, she works with clinicians and strategic partners to ensure products are viable in real world settings. She has been a Finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year^® Award for the Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia region twice.  She has also been recognized by PA Business Central as "One of the Top 100 Business People in Central Pennsylvania".  In 2015, she received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the CBICC.  She is an alumni from the highly competitive Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. She earned her Ph.D. in 1996. "It is quite an honor to be recognized for the work that is done at Actuated Medical, but I could not have gotten this far without the dedicated and engaged AMI team. Team members are all working towards a common vision of improving patient outcomes and our innovations reflect that," says Mulvihill.

Finalists were chosen by more than 110 business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  Members of five final judging committees will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging October 17-26.
