By: ASIS Boats ASIS Boats has recently built and provided yet another fully customized RIB to be used as a tender for a yacht mooring in Dubai, UAE. The yacht having a crane with a limited safe working load, the tender had to be very light in weight without compromising its' heavy duty quality neither eliminating any of its functions. The Tender RIB is 6.5 m long, featuring a bow U-bench convertible to sunbed, powered by 150 Hp Mercury 4 stroke outboard engine and equipped with Garmin GPS and VHF for navigation and communication purposes. The pilot and co-pilot lean on a light weight aluminum post. A point for skiing and towing, has been fixed on the Aluminium A-frame at the aft of the RIB. All metal accessories have been made of aluminium in order to keep the weight as low as possible, and unquestionably the aluminium is of marine grade, and black powder coated in order to match the black accessories of the mother yacht. Furthermore the upholstery of the RIB has black highlights matching the fenders and the nonskid patches on the hypalon tube. The most common uses of tenders include but are not limited to: transporting yacht master, guest and crews in various weather conditions from shore (or beach) to yacht and vice versa, water sport activities, diving and fishing trips, provisioning for the yacht, yacht hull cleaning, man-overboard rescue operations and transporting an injured person ashore. Eventhough the tender RIB isn't intended for offshore travel; the ASIS 6.5 m Tender has been CE Certified under category "B" which stands for offshore use.
