EAC Network Raises Over $47,000 for Local Children in Need

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Oct. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- EAC Network's Pajama Party to Protect Children successfully raised over $47,000 on September 24^th at the Long Island Children's Museum for its Children & Youth programs, which provide essential human services to local children in need.

Kids and parents alike dressed in their favorite pajamas and enjoyed free range of the museum after hours at EAC Network's 11^th annual children's fundraiser. Guests delighted in extra activities such as live animals, arts & crafts, and a special princess performance hosted by CM Performing Arts Center. Although attendees reveled in fun, they didn't forget the real reason they were there – for the kids.

"It's affirming to see how much members of our community care about our children and want to see their lives improved," said Lance W. Elder, President & CEO at EAC Network. "We're thrilled that so many local families came to make a real difference for the kids who need it the most."

The nonprofit has been an advocate for children since its inception in 1969 and has since created programs that reduce the trauma of physically abused children, secure homes and mentors for kids in foster care, and promote child passenger safety. Staff at the Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center in Central Islip, where several of EAC Network's children programs are housed, take on over 400 difficult cases of child abuse each year and work in conjunction with specialized doctors and authorities to treat victims and help families navigate the prosecution process.
