Roizen, M.D., Chair, Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute; Chief Wellness Officer, Cleveland Clinic · The Del de Windt Leadership Award for Civic Engagement presented to Senator George V. Voinovich (posthumously) · Special Guest Appearance by Cleveland Browns legend Earnest Byner, author of "Everybody Fumbles" and friend of The First Tee of Cleveland who lives the core values · The Doris Evans, M.D., Merit Scholarship Award presented to participant Patrick McKee · Special Participant Perspectives Presentation The mission of The First Tee of Cleveland is to positively impact the lives of young people ages 6 to18 from Greater Cleveland by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. Last year, the organization served 720 participants and 21 elementary schools, plus collaborated with youth agencies throughout Northeast Ohio. Independent research has shown the curriculum has a positive impact on the participants' grades, self-confidence and social responsibility. The Thanksgiving Breakfast agenda is as follows: 7:00 am – Registration Opens / Coffee; 7:30 am – Formal Program begins; 8:30 am – Adjourn to Breakfast Stations / Informal Reception; 9:00 am – Closing Remarks. Proceeds from the event will enable The First Tee of Cleveland to extend reach to more youth in need of social and emotional skills throughout our community.
