Lighthouse IP expands patent and trademark owner name translation

AMSTERDAM - Aug. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- With the growth of publications from the Far East and especially China, Lighthouse IP was the first information provider to translate patent and trademark owner names back to the original name of the applying organization.

When companies file patents and trademarks in China the Western name is converted into a Chinese version. After publication by the patent and trademark offices these names are made available in pinyin. The challenge with that is that the name has no more relationship with its original. An example is McDonals Corp. When McDonalds Corp patents or trademarks are published in China the name is converted into Mai Dan Lau. Lighthouse IP was the first information provider to not just transliterate but also translate the name back to McDonalds corp.
