-- The 28th Falcon Ridge Folk Festival takes wing the first weekend in August. Homegrown from a hillside gathering, the fest has become a yearly pilgrimage for many, complete with a pre-fest Thursday locavore inspired Tastings and Farm Market. Campers and day-trippers converge on its yearly Brigadoon-like setting on Dodds Farm in Hillsdale, NY.
Single day, 3 day camping tickets are available as are senior & student discounts. Kids under 12 have free admission. Thursday pre-fest Tastings brings local food producers, wineries, distilleries & breweries together with intimate performances at the Lounge Stage.
Brimming with Main Stage concerts, workshops, hours of dancing, Activities 4 Kids, delightful Family Stage, international food and crafts.The Dance Tent wakes to early morning yoga and grooves until 2AM Friday and Saturday. The fest is accessible and ASL-interpreted.
Folk icon Tom Rush, fest MVPs the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, roots rockers, The Felice Brothers and Season 8 Voice contestant Sarah Potenza are featured along with Vance Gilbert, The Gaslight Tinkers, Brother Sun, Patty Larkin, Buddy System, Metropolitan Klezmer, Peter Mulvey and many others. Music runs the gamut form Celtic to Cajun to Blues, Bluegrass, Roots, Reggae & more with the fest's trademark singer/songwriters and Contra Dance bands front and center.
