Colorado Companies to Watch Celebrates 8 Years of Impact & Innovation

Gala Awards Ceremony Honors 50 New Winners with Night of Inspiration & Fantasy

DENVER - June 23, 2016 - PRLog -- Colorado Companies to Watch (CCTW), a unique awards program honoring local second-stage companies, celebrated fifty 2016 Winners on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center. Now in its eighth year, the Colorado Companies to Watch awards program works to recognizes often overlooked second-stage companies (those that are neither start-ups nor large corporations) for the critical role they play in our local economy and entrepreneurial communities.

"We are proud to honor and support those who are truly making a difference in our communities," said Sean Nohavec, CCTW Chairman of the Board and Senior Vice President, Platinum Sponsor UMB Bank. "CCTW and our allies are here as champions for the now 400-strong Alumni as they continue to grow and strengthen."

The Gala was attended by close to 700 business leaders, professionals, economic developers, and government officials, including keynote speaker Governor John Hickenlooper, and was emceed by Mike Barz, Anchor/Reporter for Channel 2 News Team & FOX31. The theme for the evening was inspired by Alice in Wonderland with a "Winner in Wonderland" and an after-party with Mark's Midnight Carnival Show for entertainment.

Sam Bailey, Sr., Industry Development Manager, Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, was honored as the 2016 Legacy Honoree Legacy for his long-term dedication and service to the Colorado Companies to Watch program and incomparable commitment towards Colorado's second-stage companies. Bailey served as CCTW Program Director from 2014-2015 and as Board Director from 2012-2013.

Chosen from over 1,000 nominations, winning companies represent a broad range of industries and are recognized for their success and potential for growth, community involvement, philanthropy and corporate culture.

"The Winners were impressive," said Tim Root, President of Magnify Signs, and member of Colorado Thought Leaders Forum, a CCTW Supporting Partner. "I had always thought this event was about celebrating tech companies with rapid growth. To my surprise it is much more about real companies with people, facilities, products and a history of being successful and growing to a mature business. I enjoyed seeing the variety of companies and industries that were winners."

New this year, Colorado's Own Channel 2 KWGN-TV offered 2016 Finalists a chance to win a customized marketing campaign worth $50,000. "Colorado's Own Marketing Maximizer" offers the winning company a tailored advertising campaign on Colorado's Own Channel 2; marketing strategy and competitive analysis; commercial production including planning, shooting, and editing; an appearance on Colorado's Best Show; and logo design service. The winner will be chosen by drawing and winning benefits will begin in 2017. The remaining 49 winning companies will also receive a tour of the studio and a marketing workshop.

About Colorado Companies to Watch

Colorado Companies to Watch, presented by CapitalValue Advisors, is an awards program honoring second-stage companies headquartered in the state of Colorado. The 400 companies that have been honored since the program's inception demonstrate high performance in the marketplace or exhibit innovative products or processes. The program is designed to seek businesses from a wide range of industries throughout the state, not just the major metropolitan areas. The 50 companies selected each year make an astounding impact on Colorado's economy by collectively providing thousands of jobs and contributing millions of dollars in revenue. The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) launched the program in 2009 in conjunction with the Edward Lowe Foundation and valuable community partners from across Colorado.
