PRLog -- The Maybeck Studio for the Performing Arts welcomes vocalist Ellen Johnson and pianist Jason Martineau on June 25 at 3:00 pm as they share a musical dance through song, poetry and free improvisation in an all new event, Sounds of Love. Johnson and Martineau. who share a love for improvised music, have performed together on numerous occasions with a jazz trio, most recently doing the music of Charles Mingus. The duo format allows them to express the many colors of the voice and piano along with an added addition of crystal singing bowls. According to Christopher Louden writing in JazzTimes, "When it comes to shaping wordless gems, Johnson packs as imaginative a wallop as the mighty (Bobby) McFerrin." Martineau has been active in the San Francisco Bay area as an award winning composer, pianist, arranger and instructor. The concert is $20 general admission with limited seating located at 1537 Euclid Ave, Berkely, CA For more information go to; http:www.maybeckstudio.org or about Ellen Johnson go to,
