CSA New Member Applications Now Available

Brooklyn, NY, ______ 2016 -Cobble Hill CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is pleased to announce the exciting beginning of our 2016 season. Membership is open to everyone and we are excepting applications for the next 3 weeks. Our first pickup is Tuesday, June 7th. Hurry, space is limited.

Cobble Hill CSA launched in 1996. This year marks its 21st year partnering with Green Thumb Organic Farm of Water Mill, Long Island. In a CSA, members purchase a share from a farmer in the spring and share in the risk and reward of the farmer's harvest throughout the season. CSA is a great way for New Yorkers to get the best quality produce and to support local family farms that use sustainable growing practices.

Green Thumb Farm is U.S.D.A. certified organic by NOFA - N.Y. Certified Organic LLC. Everything on the farm is grown in an earth friendly and sustainable manner.  Produce is hand harvested daily to ensure maximum freshness and quality.  This family managed, owned and operated farm has been in the Halsey family for over 300 years.

Wilklow Orchard is located in the Hudson Valley. The family has been farming this spot for 6 generations. It wasn't until 1984, though, that they started bringing their produce into New York City to sell through Greenmarket.  Today the Wilklows grow about 100 acres of fruit and 15 acres of vegetables.  In this way they have managed to diversify their crops, while still holding onto family traditions and quality.
