FBI expansion in Pocatello to bring in hundreds of jobs

POCATELLO, Idaho - May 26, 2016 - PRLog -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation is expanding their presence in Pocatello, adding up to 300 new jobs to the area. Currently, they have a data center and that current building will be expanded by nearly 100,000 square feet. The cost of this expansion is estimated around $10 million. Development of this expansion is set to start the summer of 2016 and will be completed next spring.

This project has been in the works for the past for to five years according to Pocatello Councilman Steve Brown. And the final proposal was sent to the FBI's division of Finance in Washington D.C. in early 2016. The FBI received the approval and has let everyone know the good news.  The start of the expansion is set to start the summer of 2016 and is planned to be completed by the spring of 2017.

According to KIFI Local News 8, most of the jobs being offered will be technology jobs with an average salary in the range of $60,000 annually. This is going to have a very positive economic impact on the region of $36 million with new housing being built, cars sold and service industries seeing a boost.
