Ceramic Polymer: Protective coatings for process tanks and filter vessels

Best possible corrosion protection with our Proguard series - Internal coating of process vessels and filter tanks

BIELEFELD, Germany - May 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Heidenheim/Germany: The company W.T.S.-Ludwig, plant engineering and construction, uses Ceramic Polymer coatings for the optimum corrosion protection of specific filter tanks and reactor vessels. Focused on specific product requirements we offer protective coatings with physical properties for specific applications.

Project No. 1: Chemically resistant internal coating for process vessels; the suitability of our system PROGUARD CN-1M was tested and specified by the end customer

In this application case our product PROGUARD CN-1M was tested directly by the end customer according to their testing requirements with respect to long-term chemical resistance the storage medium. The results convinced in every aspect - as PROGUARD CN-1M met or exceeded customer specifications.

Beside the construction of the reactors, our business partner W.T.S.-Ludwig from Heidenheim also conducted the application of the internal coating. Our product PROGUARD CN-1M was applied directly on the sandblasted steel (SA 2.5) in one layer of 600 µm (24 mils) by airless spraying method. The coating of the holes and flanges was carried out with conventional hand tools. This single procedure suffices to protect the tanks reliably from chemical attack and any resulting corrosion damages.

Technical Details:
Tanks: 2 reactor vessels
Size: Height 3 m, diameter 2.6 m
Resistance against process medium: Our product was tested and specified by the end customer
Coating product: Proguard CN-1M

Project No. 2: Internal coating of filter tanks for the clarification of groundwater with our product PROGUARD CN 200

The coating system PROGUARD CN 200 provides excellent versatility. In this case, outstanding abrasion resistance is required for the protection of the sandfilters due to heavy flow of water and sand (filter material). The coating is applied by airless spraying on the prepared substrate. Generally only one layer is enough for the ideal corrosion protection for this type of application. In this project a thickness of 500 µm (20 mils) was applied. Flanges and holes were treated with brush or roller. Moreover, the fast curing time of this product facilitated a rapid return to service for the customer.

Technical Details:
Tanks: 2 filter tanks
Size: Height 4.5 m, diameter 2.8 m
Range of use: Groundwater purification, the filter material was installed by the end customer
Coating product: Proguard CN 200
