BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - April 13, 2016 - PRLog -- ESIRT, LLC announced today that Founder & President of ESI Roundtable, Melissa "Rogo" Rogozinski, has been nominated for "EDiscovery Person of the Year" at the second annual eDiscovery awards sponsored by ACEDS.

The award for EDiscovery Person of the Year recognizes a legal services professional whose on-the-job achievements have had a significant impact on and contributed to the advancement of the EDiscovery profession.  In response to the nomination, Rogozinski stated:  "I'm humbled and sincerely honored to be recognized by my peers for this award.  However, I submit the nomination to the ESIRT Community.  We built this together because we needed each other, and we knew we could help one another."

Melissa "Rogo" Rogozinski has been a legal services professional since 1994. She has served the legal community as a litigation paralegal, business development professional and educator. Managing panelists and volunteers, she has grown ESIRT's influence throughout the United States, Canada & Europe with over 250 programs on eDiscovery, data security/privacy & information management.  Rogozinski is a regular guest speaker at Samford University Paralegal Program, was a guest panelist at the inaugural George Washington University Paralegal Tech Talk, Technology Panelist at the Birmingham Bar Association Bench Bar Retreat, guest speaker for Women in eDiscovery, co-host with the Alabama State Bar on "Avoiding Malpractice in e-Discovery," co-host/speaker with ACEDS "Empowering Paralegals", and a semi-finalist in the Alabama Launchpad Small Business Grant Competition.  A former caregiver and breast cancer survivor herself, she also volunteers regularly at The Dannon Project where she teaches classes on social media etiquette, LinkedIn profile building and professional development.  "I now know what "strong" and "survivor" really mean. As a guest speaker and volunteer, I offer my story to encourage and inspire others," states Rogozinski.

When asked about Rogozinski's nomination, Paul Zimmerman, ESIRT Advisory Board Member, commented, "Melissa focused on a simple concept of letting local attorneys teach basic legal concepts and practical techniques for e-discovery to their peers that need it most, in free or low cost programs that were available to everyone in the legal community. Her programs are networking and educational opportunities that focus on those outside the "big data bubble."  The degree to which these communities rallied around her when her illness interfered with her ability to present ESIRT programs is a testament to the impact she has had."  Mr. Zimmerman is a Partner at Christian & Small, LLP, in Birmingham, and serves on their Technology Committee.  He is also a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 Working Group 11, and serves as chair of CLM's eDiscovery and ESI Committee.

Winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 20th at the ACEDS Conference Awards luncheon in New York.
