Perceptions Sheds light on Living with Autism

FLINT, Mich. - March 31, 2016 - PRLog -- The highly anticipated song Perceptions was released to the public March 29th raising awareness of Autism and striking a chord with listeners.

Written by motivational speaker Josh Stokes, who is autistic, in collaboration with award winning songwriter Lonny Ray and Singer/Songwriter Mike Vandeville, the song portrays not only what it is like to live with autism but also the emotions that race when learning to interact with a loved one who processes things in a different way.

Perceptions is brought to life by the talented voices of former American Idol contestant Taylor Walls and singer/songwriter Chas Burtchett. Chas is no stranger to the impact a song can have on raising awareness of autism. His ballad Christy's Song, written for his younger sister who is autistic, has been performed at numerous awareness walks and events around the country.

Though Perceptions is based on the judgments that people have with those afflicted with Autism, the core message is universal especially as outlined in the song's bridge: "How can I make them see? This talented team of Michigan-based songwriters and performers hope their collaboration will bring to light the hopelessness that people feel for being judged. Through its universal language music can bring understanding to those who listen.
