-- Chapora River:- It is a very popular river of the North Goa which started from Ramghat, Maharashtra state and go into Arabian sea just near of the Chapora fort and Vagator Beach. A small village Morjim is also located at bank of this river. This river total length is 21 kilometers. Good season to visit it is monsoon when it come on full passion.
Chapora Fort:- Chapora Fort is located at the bank of the Chapora River just near of the Arabian Sea. Present fort was built in 1717 by Hindu religion King of Pernem. This fort was switch to several rulers time to time like Muslim ruler, Maratha ruler and Portuguese ruler. Generally, this site was a other fort before 1510 when Portuguese come in India. Portuguese ruler conquers this fort in 18th centaury and used several cannon to protect this fort from invaders.
How can reach:- This river and fort are just 22 kilometers far from Panjim Goa state capital in north direction. Margaon city is just 53 kilometers far from this fort; Margao is a main railway junction of the state but its nearest railway station is Thivim.
