WASHINGTON - March 4, 2016 - PRLog -- Ellen Osei, President and Co-founder of Raising Hopeful Orphans Pursuing Excellence  (HOPE) and 2nd runner up of Miss Ghana USA 2011 will celebrate the BET Honors pre-taping on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Washington D.C.

The BET Honors recognizes the achievements of African American luminaries who have contributed to society in the corporate, entertainment, and public service sectors.  Ms. Osei's foundational work recognizes the BET Honors' mission as a core to the progress of the African American community.

"If we continue to consistently honor young people who are taking charge in these key foundational roles, the more young individuals we can educate and influence to be the trailblazers that will diversify the images we see when we reflect on the architects of our modern day society."

BET Honors "Next in Class" award targets a generation of young leaders that aligns directly with Ms. Osei's humanitarian this year. The award highlights African American millennials who have made notable contributions in the areas of entertainment, music, social justice, education, fashion, and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Ms. Osei believes recognizing young leaders will further empower and advance minorities.

Ms. Osei seeks to motivate and empower young women within the African Diaspora who are considering leadership roles in similar areas where there is a lack of support and guidance from their surroundings, community and culture. Her new venture, Circle of Ladies Above Societal Standards (CLASS) Management serves as a primary international network where women may turn for mentorship and development in the areas of fashion, pageantry, education, career development, and public service.

BET Honors will also be recognizing the "Godmother of Soul" Patti LaBelle, the first African American Attorney General Eric Holder, and filmmaker Lee Daniels among other notable leaders.  Performances will be held by Toni Braxton, Fantasia, and Babyface as well as other talents.  BET Honors airs on Monday, March 14.
