LOS ANGELES - Feb. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Brands that have never been able to participate in product placement, brand integration, and embedded marketing now have a way to get involved with the powerful marketing strategy of product placement.  The Placement Directory Inc., has launched a new app that connects TV shows and movie studios with brands. Brands simply pay a small yearly subscription to use the system and not for the product placements.

The system works based on changes in the entertainment industry.  With the rapid spread of cable channels and on demand networks, production studios have been scrambling to cut the costs of their shows.  Where before studios would have the production manager acquire all of the brands needed for each production, they are now trying to offset that cost by partnering with brands to get free products just for using them in a high profile entity.

Studios need to be approved to use the system, but when approved, get to use the system for free.  Brands pay a small yearly subscription fee to use the system.  All coordination between studios and brands are based on keyword searches, that can be performed by either party.

More about the Placement Directory: Placement Directory is the entertainment industry’s central database between TV/movie studios and brands to provide product placement by reducing production costs for studios while providing mass media exposure for brands.
