Follow on Google News | Laitkor - Will PHP Be Deprecated?PHP is one of the most famous Framework that is being used by millions of users worldwide. It is being used for many big projects like Wordpress, joomla, facebook, drupal, magento and many others.
If PHP be deprecated? If you ever try to check GitHub language statistics, you will observe that PHP is the 4th most common language used by millions of users/ developers, above are only Javascript, Java and Ruby. Beside the first version of PHP that has been released approximately 20 years ago and then there arrives a new version PHP7, which is an indication that PHP is still evolving and probably is still long going to stay with you for many next years. Many people who are not using PHP is unaware that the language itself is experiencing a true renaissance. With the evolution of Composer as a package manager and PHP Framework Interop Group, the community has been revived and is benefitting from its own participation. There are better and more interoperable frameworks which makes it much easy and much faster to do nearly everything in PHP. PHP is a stable language, which means that it focuses on providing stability and waits for other features to be released into other languages and then implements those features. Generators from Python used in PHP are a good example, lambdas from JavaScript, functional programming concepts from other languages, etc. The stability languages focus on stability, whereas developers like new/ better features/ cool toys. But new/better features are only obvious in hindsight, see javascript for what probably seemed like a good idea at the time that became a bad idea in hindsight. Since PHP is an Open Source, so it can’t be really deprecated. Version 7 has tons of improvements. It has got a long life still. PHP is one of the widely used Framework which is used by developers.
