t4 Spatial Selected by Santa Cruz County Sanitation District for Transformational Asset Management

System-Wide Deployment of t4 Spatial Underground™ Platform Accessible from Any Internet-Connected Device to Empower District, Improve Efficiency, and Benefit the Environment

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Feb. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- February 18, 2016 – t4 Spatial announced today that it has been selected by Santa Cruz County Sanitation District (SCCSD), to support its gravity wastewater maintenance plan for its 225 miles of mains through its transformational t4 Underground™ software platform. The program is expected to increase visibility of assets by bringing online all District inspection video taken by its field crews, improve work plans by utilizing existing GIS data and overlaying it with a variety of field characteristics, benefit the environment by extending the remaining useful life of the district’s assets, and minimize the chance that SSOs will occur. SCCSD joins many other sanitation Districts using the platform today, including Joliet, Vallecitos, Mission Springs, San Leandro, and several others.

“We are honored to partner with these t4 Underground™ customers in reducing costs, quickening the pace of O&M and better integrating O&M work with Capital Improvement Plans,” said Robert Hughes, Chairman of t4 Spatial. “The technology being deployed and our customers’ commitment to applying advanced technology to enhance stewardship of agency assets is extending the useful life of critical infrastructure.”

Rachél Lather, of Kestrel, a wastewater industry thought leader, senior civil engineer and former Santa Cruz wastewater executive describes t4 Underground™ v2.2 as, “Truly transformative, a solution long-awaited in our industry, with the promise of unprecedented visibility and simplicity to operators. As one example, completing a Spill Report used to take 3 full-time employees of SCCSD 70% of their time for six weeks. It took us about six hours – not weeks – with t4 Underground™. Field teams can access the same data on their mobile phones that we can access from the browser in the office.”

This secure platform will provide SCCSD with data and insights into its wastewater infrastructure, empowering the District’s employees to better manage their underground assets, and enabling a variety of correlated information to come together on the t4 Underground™ platform in real-time to enable best management practices. For example, SCCSD will be able to better monitor and manage gravity wastewater technology resources to significantly improve potential SSO detection, optimize field work plans, and enable field teams to deliver high-quality service to ratepayers.
