Experience Desert Shield and Desert Storm from the Loader’s Hatch of an M1A1 tank

TUCSON, Ariz. - Feb. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- Tucson author and resident Bacil Donovan Warren will publish With It or in It: Desert Shield and Desert Storm from the Loader’s Hatch, the first-hand experience of the author as an M1A1 tank crewman during the First Gulf War. It is available for pre-order, and will be released on February 24^th, 2016, the 25^th anniversary of the start of the ground war.

With It or in It is the author’s experience as a tank crewman in the first major tank conflict of the United States since World War II. It includes vibrant descriptions of the entire event from the initial shock of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait, through training and deploying to Saudi Arabia in October of 1990 as part of Desert Shield, to battles and finally returning home.

“I have read many descriptions and accounts of the first Gulf War,” says author Bacil Donovan Warren, “but there aren’t many from the perspective of the enlisted soldier in the tank or foxhole. I wanted to make sure to include that story as part of the narrative, and provide the perspective of the ‘common soldier’ in that conflict. I also hope to provide some sense to the reader about the daily life of a tank crewman deployed for combat, to help create a visceral connection to the experience we had.”
