Stadium Journey Names Top 100 Stadium Experiences of 2015

Stadium Journey, a website and monthly magazine which focuses on rating stadium experiences from around the world, has released its list of the best stadium experiences for the United States and Canada for 2015.

Highlights include the Baltimore Orioles taking the honor of top stadium experience for games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards for the second straight year. The venue received the first ever perfect score in the six-year history of Stadium Journey.

Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, took the honor of best stadium in the NFL for the fifth consecutive season.

Parkview Field, home of the Ft Wayne TinCaps of the Class A Midwest League, took the title of best ballpark in Minor League Baseball. It is the fourth time that Parkview Field was bestowed with this title, previously winning for 2011, 2012, and 2014.

MTS Centre, home of the Winnipeg Jets, was named as the best NHL experience for the first time.

AT&T Center, home of the San Antonio Spurs, was named as the best NBA experience for the third consecutive year.

Providence Park, home of the Portland Timbers, was named as the best MLS stadium experience.

Top venues in the major collegiate sports included:

College Football, Notre Dame Stadium, home of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3rd consecutive year).

College Basketball, Rupp Arena, home of the Kentucky Wildcats (2nd consecutive year).

College Baseball, Carolina Stadium, home of the South Carolina Gamecocks (2nd consecutive year).

College Hockey, Amsoil Arena, home of the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (3rd consecutive year).

Other sports/leagues top venues included:

NASCAR, Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500 (4th consecutive year).

Minor League Hockey, Dom Cardillo Arena, home of the OHL Kitchener Rangers.

The BNP Paribas Open was named as the best Special Event for 2015 (2nd consecutive year).

The First Niagara Center took the title for best lacrosse experience as the home of the Buffalo Bandits of the NLL.

New York and Texas tied for the most stadiums on the list by state with seven.

CenturyLink Field in Seattle (Sounders and Seahawks), Staples Center in Los Angeles (Lakers and Clippers), First Niagara Center (Sabres and Bandits), and Madison Square Garden (Rangers and Knicks) were the only venues to make the Top 100 list twice.

Colleges that made the list on multiple occasions include:

·         Michigan (football, hockey, and basketball)

·         Notre Dame (hockey and football)

·         South Carolina (football and baseball)

·         Texas (football and baseball)
