The Palms of Destin Resort Hosts Destin’s Desserts Competition

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. - Jan. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- The 5^th Annual Destin Desserts Competition is an event bringing local chefs together to create a dessert that will vie for the title of Destin Desserts Champion. The Palms of Destin Resort & Conference Center will open its doors at 6:00pm to those who are attending the Destin Desserts Competition. The event will start promptly at 7:00pm on Friday, January 22^nd.

Area competing Chefs include: Nikhil Abuvala of Roux 30A, Chris Rookis of Aegean Restaurant, Katrina Prebula of Lulu’s, Ruston Johnson of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Angie Malabet of Bijoux and Brian Murray of DIG. These chefs will have the chance to create and serve a culinary contender worth holding the title of Destin Desserts Champion 2016. All attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dessert.

Heavy hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails will be provided at the Destin Desserts Competition event along with live entertainment from Shades of Blue. A chance to bid on products and services donated from local businesses will be available through a silent auction. Proceeds from this event will go to the repairing and re-opening of Girl Scouts’ Camp Kolomoki, which is located in Walton County.

Tickets to the Destin Desserts Competition event can be purchased through the Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle website or at the following locations: Shear Twist in Niceville, Florida; The Center for Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in Destin, Florida; Frillseekers in Destin, Florida. Tickets are $35 each. Suggested attire for the event is business casual.

The 5^th Annual Destin Desserts Competition is held at The Palms of Destin Resort & Conference Center. Located on the north side of highway 98, just past the Walmart shopping plaza, The Palms of Destin is conveniently located to most Destin beach condos.
