PERTH, Australia - Dec. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- The Women in Energy and Resources Leadership Summit comprises the mining, exploration, metal / mineral processing, oil and gas and power generation industries. Women currently make up approximately 16% of the resource workforce, traditionally this is a male dominated industry and women who advance in the field often do so in relative isolation. In particular increasing the amount of female miners and workers has been identified by mining companies, contractors and the Australian Government as an important strategy in combating the skills shortage in the mining and resource sector. Succeeding as a female in such an environment requires talent, determination and the ability to navigate a complex and challenging male-dominated industry.
