Georgia Power and Wal-Mart Team Up for the 5th Annual Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala

ATLANTA - Dec. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation announced the 5th Annual Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala on Friday, December 4th at Georgia Power's corporate headquarters in Atlanta.  The event marks the organization's fifth year serving the Atlanta area while educating children on healthy lifestyle habits to avoid obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation will honor unsung community professionals who exemplify outstanding career achievement and philanthropy as well as award high school students with $1000 book scholarships for college. The 2015 Pinnacle Awards honorees are: Dr. Donovan Christie, M.D. of Anwan Regenerative Center, Dr. Queenston Thorpe, Ph.D. of Atlanta Technical College and Chef Dwayne Hairston of Customs Creations Catering.

Sponsors of the gala include: Georgia Power, Wal-Mart, Publix and Southern Barter Club. The 5th Annual Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala will feature a gourmet dinner buffet and program hosted by Erin Coleman, WSB TV news anchor, keynote address by Dr. Stephen Green, Superintendent of Dekalb County Schools and  special guests, KD Bowe and Maria More of Radio One Atlanta. Musical entertainment for the gala will be provided by gospel recording artists, Kenekie Williams and Shayla Harris. There will be various trips, sports paraphernalia and art featured on the live auction hosted by Emmy award-winning media personality and auctioneer Aurea McGarry.
