Hope 4 Ebola Orphans - a new non-profit charity with a new approach launches today. The charity’s simple message (the clue’s in their name): Hope 4 Ebola Orphans. The Foundation aims to give a voice to Ebola’s 12,000 orphans in Sierra Leone.

Nov. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- A new non-profit Foundation charity makes its formal debut today with a simple message: Hope 4 Ebola Orphans. The Foundation believes this helps directly send a very positive and unifying message of hope to Ebola’s Generation today, Sierra Leone’s national Day of Thanksgiving.

Why today to launch Hope 4 Ebola Orphans?

Although the Foundation is already on the ground, delivering care direct to Ebola’s orphans in Sierra Leone and has been since July, the formal launch waits 'til today! Charity founders, Mayila Yansaneh and Hanneke Hoogendoorn explain why Hope 4 Ebola Orphans chose today, Sierra Leone’s National Day of Thanksgiving, to launch their Foundation.

Quote
“We choose November 21st Sierra Leone’s National Day of Thanksgiving to launch Hope 4 Ebola Orphans. It is a day to be thankful for the end of Ebola. A day of remembrance for those we have all lost and a day to remember the generation Ebola has left behind – Ebola’s 12,000 orphans.

This is a time for thanksgiving and remembrance. And it is a time to show national unity and solidarity. To stand with these blameless children. To stand with Ebola’s Generation.

The Foundation was set up to identify, register and provide immediate assistance to Ebola’s orphans giving food, clothing, medical help and access to education. Talking about how they came to set up Hope 4 Ebola Orphans, friends and co-founders Mayila and Hanneke take turns to explain:

Quote
Hanneke: “When news of Ebola first broke we knew straightaway there would be a terrible human cost, that children would be left behind but we had no idea, then, how many. We knew we had to do something for the children. Now the pandemic is finally over, Ebola’s 12,000 orphans remain and we are especially concerned with those 3,000+ children, who so cruelly lost both parents to deadly Ebola.”

Mayila continued: “These blameless children - now have no parents to protect them. No parents to guide them or love them. I have witnessed with my own eyes many of Ebola’s children now living on the streets and facing dangers of malnutrition, assault and even rape.

We surely owe these blameless children a debt. They do not deserve to be disregarded. Swept under the carpet. Abandoned. Let us instead guide them to be co-operative, civic-minded citizens; anti-corruption and entrepreneurial – a backbone for Sierra Leone’s renaissance.”

Hanneke added: “We really believe now they have lost everything let these blameless children at least have something - protection, health and education. Let them now be our children, the world’s children and receive our protection, our guidance. Above all let them receive our love, the world’s love.”
End quote

The Foundation plans sharing exciting news over the coming weeks on it's new approach and Patrons and Sponsors coming on board to give a voice to the Ebola Generation.Meanwhile, Hope 4 Ebola Orphans continues its campaign to raise awareness for Sierra Leone’s Ebola's 12,000 children, just like Candida, pictured, and fundraising to support them.
