Acura Shows Massive Sales Increases for OctoberThanks to sales in the Chicagoland area, the ILX, TLX, and RDX have all seen significant sales growth.
By: Chicagoland Acura Dealers This represents the first time that the TLX passed 5,000 unit sales in a month. A relative newcomer to the Acura lineup, the TLX replaced the outgoing TSX and TL, taking up the roles of both models by offering a standard 4-cylinder and a 3.5L V6 engine. The 2016 TLX actually came closer to 6,000 models, with a total of 5,777, an increase of 18.1 percent. The Acura ILX is frequently the first new luxury car a driver buys, and its sales growth shows that many Chicagoland drivers have been choosing this mixture of class, style, and practicality over other entry-level luxury sedans. A sales increase of 15.0 percent over October 2014 pushes the ILX to nearly 2,000 units sold. The family-friendly 2016 Acura RDX crossover rounds out the remarkable sales with a staggering 22.4 percent increase over last October to 3,891 units sold. John Ikeda, the VP and general manager of Honda's Acura division, said, "We continue to strengthen the foundation of the Acura brand on the growing strength of sedan sales. Our balanced lineup of passenger cars and light trucks has Acura on track this year for our best annual sales total in almost a decade." All of this translates to a total of 16,079 units sold in October for the Acura brand, representing a rise of 4.2 percent over October 2014 — Acura car sales accounted for much of the increase, soaring to a total of 12.5 percent.
