About the Recipients:

Over the past 30 years Jon Harvill helped countless people with career guidance, finding jobs, starting businesses, and leveraging the benefits of APICS. Jon was active with APICS Atlanta and started the Career Center which serves as a model for other Chapters around the Country.

If you have engaged with APICS Atlanta on anything Education in the past 10 years, you know Mr. Tom Cox. Tom has served as APICS Atlanta VP Education for as long as memory serves. He has also been active at the regional level serving on the Southeast District Board as Board Member and APICS Atlanta Chapter liaison. In recent years Cox has received numerous awards from APICS Atlanta including Instructor of the Year, Board Member or the Year and Presidents Distinguished Leadership award. Cox has been a steadying influence through numerous Board transitions.

Gus Whalen was a long-time friend of APICS and APICS Atlanta. Gus ran a successful business based in Gainesville, GA, was a sought after presenter, authored numerous books and was the brain trust of the annual Georgia Manufacturing Appreciation Week event. Mr. Whalen passed away this summer. Proceeds from this event will go to the North Georgia Community Foundation in honor of Gus.

Mike Wasson, CSCP, is VP Supply Chain and Operations at Tosca, and Secretary/Treasurer for 2015 APICS Supply Chain Council Board of Directors and serves on the APICS Corporate Advisory Board. In his role with Tosca, Wasson provides leadership and direction on asset management, supply chain optimization, logistics, transportation, customer service, procurement, corporate safety, plant productivity, and service quality. Wasson has 20-plus years of experience, with companies including Coca-Cola Refreshments, DHL Express-USA, and Hammacher Schlemmer.
