NEW YORK - Oct. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- The Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network (YES) continued to promote the internet gambling website, FanDuel, during the broadcast of a college football game on October 24, 2015. YES ignored the information revealed in multiple state investigations and lawsuits that allege FanDuel is operating an illegal online gambling website that accept wagers on individual NCAA athletes.

During the NCAA college football game between the University of Virginia and the University of North Carolina, YES' broadcast included a segment that appeared to be sponsored by FanDuel, titled “Huddle Up.”

The segment continued with another graphic which indicated game strategy advice for each college team, located adjacent to the FanDuel logo. The college players are depicted in the background.

FANDUEL CONTINUES TO ACCEPT BETS ON NCAA PLAYERS

As of October 25, 2015, FanDuel continued to accept bets on NCAA players, even after the NCAA demanded FanDuel stop. On October 20, 2015, The New York Times reported that:

The [NCAA] opposes the websites’ offering of fantasy contests based on college sports because it considers them gambling.

Along with the 10 most prominent football conferences, the N.C.A.A. had asked the sites in August to stop offering fantasy games based on college sports “because they were inconsistent with our values, bylaws, rules and interpretations regarding sports wagering” and could violate “various state laws.”

YES is owned by 21st Century Fox (which owns a controlling 80% interest and serves as managing partner) and Yankee Global Enterprises (which owns the remaining 20%).

Imbesi Law P.C. filed a class action lawsuit against FanDuel and DraftKings. The law firm has established the website www.fandueldispute.com to provide information relating to the lawsuit.
