MeriEducation Founder Joan Nguyen Named Finalist in 12th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business

PASADENA, Calif. - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- MeriEducation Founder & CEO Joan Nguyen was recently named a Finalist in the Young Female Entrepreneur category in the 12th Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business. As an honoree of these prestigious awards, Nguyen is being recognized for her achievements with MeriEducation - a full-service tutoring, test prep, and admissions consulting company headquartered in Pasadena. The privately owned company currently boasts 4 centers in Southern California with over 50 full-time and part-time employees.

At the age of 21 with only $3,000 of her personal savings, Nguyen started MeriEducation with a vision to create an alternative to the cookie-cutter educational programs that existed. More than 1,400 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories. Finalists were selected by more than 120 business professionals from around the world during the preliminary judging. Category winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 13.
