Burnham Res Reports: HMRC Study on Micro-employers’ Readiness to Fulfil On-or-Before Reporting

Oct. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Burnham Resources, a recruitment and outplacement consultancy that provides payroll staffing in the UK and based in Surrey, has recently released a news article about HMRC study on micro-employers’ readiness to fulfil on-or-before reporting requirement. In March 2013 HMRC announced a ‘temporary’ easement of six months for employers with 49 or fewer employees who pay staff more often than monthly to report to HMRC once a month. This was extended for a further six months and then replaced with a narrower easement in April 2014 which enables existing micro employers (those with 9 or fewer employees) to report on or before the last payment day of the tax month until 2016 when all employers need to adapt to on-or-before reporting.

The research that HMRC commissioned to establish micro-employers’ readiness found that most employers that took part in the study expected to be able to comply with the requirement without any major changes to their business. The findings also stated that there seemed to be limited awareness of the implications of not submitting on-or-before for employers or employees.
