About the Author:

Dixie Pochégrew up in the community of Cecilia, Louisiana. Her interest in history began by delving into genealogy to learn about her Acadian ancestors. This led to an increased love for local history about the Cajun culture and an opportunity to explore the inspirational stories of local mom and pop businesses. A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in journalism, Ms. Poché is a corporate and travel writer based in Lafayette, LA.
