Shutts & Bowen's Harvey E. Oyer, III, named Director of Palm Beach County Development Board

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Sept. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Harvey E. A fifth-generation Palm Beach County native, Mr. Oyer chairs the Land Use Practice Group and is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. He represents clients in real estate transactions, finance, land use, zoning, agricultural law, cultural property law and government relations/lobbying.

Mr. Oyer also is a former Director of the Palm Beach County Education Commission, a Trustee and General Counsel of the South Florida Science Museum, and a Director of the Florida Historical Society.  He is a past Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, served as the Chairman of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, a Director of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, a Trustee of the Palm Beach United Way, and as a Fellow of the Duke of Edinburgh Foundation (U.K.).  He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Miami School of Law and an Adjunct Professor at the Florida Atlantic University Honors College.

Mr. Oyer is an accomplished historian, lecturer and writer on topics ranging from law, history, and archaeology to international laws regarding antiquities trafficking and cultural property protection.  He is also an award-winning and best-selling children's book author.
