Active Heroes extends hours at Community Center in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Aug. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- On March 1st, 2015, Active Heroes opened it’s first military family community center in Louisville, KY. The center offers a wide variety of activities, seminars, resources and support for veterans and their family members that are all free of charge. Activities include acupuncture treatments, massage, yoga & meditation, cross-fit boot camps, self defense classes, dog trainings and music lessons that military families can register to participate. During these first months of being open, the staff at the center has surveyed families to better understand what times they can visit. The previous hours of operation ended each at 5pm and many veterans expressed that they couldn’t get to the center after work to join activities and events.

“We have listened to the military families and understand that many of them work late,” said Troy Yocum, founder of Active Heroes. “Its imperative that we give more time at the center to allow more of them to enjoy our programs and events.”

The Active Heroes Community Center will now be open from 9am to 8pm on Tuesday through Friday and 10am to 6pm on Saturdays. Over the next few months, Active Heroes will experiment with different times for yoga & meditation, cross-fit bootcamps and more activities at these later times to help fill the classes.
