AEB hosts Annual Compliance Conference

Thursday, 8th October 2015, Mallory Court Hotel, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

ROYAL LEAMINGTON SPA, U.K. - Aug. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- AEB, one of Europe’s leading providers of global trade management (GTM) and supply chain management (SCM) solutions, and CILT(UK) are inviting SCM and GTM professionals from all industry sectors to their annual compliance conference. Titled "Shaping up for the future: Export control challenges now and beyond”, the event takes place on Thursday, 8th October 2015 from 9 am - 4.15 pm at the Mallory Court Hotel in Leamington Spa. Participants can register on http://www.aeb.com/uk/events/compliance-conference-registration.php.

The conference brings together supply chain managers and global trade experts from different industry sectors, government bodies as well as specialised consultancy services to keep up-to-date on the latest changes, trends, and developments in the world of export control compliance.

Why participate?
What are companies’ top priorities for global trade management (GTM) in 2015? That was one of the questions AEB and the German university DHBW Stuttgart asked businesses in 2014 as part of the annual Global Trade Management Agenda research series. The result: businesses consider compliance with embargo regulations their most important responsibility, followed by assuring legal protection and implementing changes to customs law and minimising supply chain risks. This clearly demonstrates the heightened awareness of the significance of export control compliance in today’s supply chains.

Dynamics present constant challenges
Regulatory changes are an absolute term in the world of global trade compliance: the U.S. Export Control Reform is ongoing, the Union Customs Code’s provisions will take effect next year, both EU and other global authorities confirm new restrictive measures against countries and individuals all the time, and latest U.S. proposals to change current controls to allow the use of the cloud for encrypted data also shows the impact of technological advances on export control programmes. Any development in global export controls has the potential to affect existing and future business processes in procurement, manufacturing, and fulfilment - and consequently affects all business areas within a company.

The conference programme includes:
- Regulatory export control and customs
- Legal aspects and non-compliance consequences
- Industry case studies
- Expert panel discussion
- Networking opportunities
- Trade village: meet trade bodies including CILT(UK), A|D|S, and King’s College’s Alpha Project
- Demo-corner: get a “look and feel” of powerful compliance tools

The following speakers have been confirmed:
- Richard Tauwhare, Senior Director, Dechert LLP
- Jeannette Rosenberg, Head Special Casework Licensing Unit, UK Export Control Organisation
