Open For Service Launches New Mobile App at Gen Con

INDIANAPOLIS - July 31, 2015 - PRLog -- INDIANAPOLIS (July 31st, 2015) – As gamers from over 50 states and 40 countries come together for Gen Con, they will be the first to experience the mobile app from Open For Service.

In March 2015 in response to the backlash of RFRA, Open For Service (O4S) has been inspiring businesses to serve everyone regardless of: race, gender, religious preferences and sexual orientation. When Josh Driver, Founder, saw the difference that his non-profit was making in the community, he knew it was time to expand business roots.

“Thanks to the amazing team at Salesforce, the mobile app will allow users to find businesses that are open to serving everyone based on a comprehensive geo-location system,” says Driver. “Our hope is to create a safe place that everyone will feel welcome in.”

The initial version of the mobile app highlights businesses near Gen Con that have registered online and has their store location pinpointed with a heart on the map. Users can get directions to the businesse's location and navigate easily around downtown. The app is available for android immediately and iPhone within a few days. The Open4serv app is free to download. There are currently over 1,700 businesses near Gen Con that are registered as “open for service,” and new shops wanting to become a registered participant may sign-up online for free.

iPhone users can text "OPENAPP" to 64586 to be notified immediately when the app is available for download.

"Gen Con is the perfect environment to launch our mobile app," Driver said. "We are monitoring the usage to launch a global roll out with a ton of cool features very soon."

Gen Con will be taking place in Indianapolis from July 31 through August 2, 2015. Last year, Gen Con reached an all-new attendance record of 184,699 participants. Some local Indianapolis businesses will be giving away discounts if a customer finds their store through the mobile app.
