ATLANTA - July 21, 2015 - PRLog -- The Atlanta Fashion Incubator, a non-profit organization working to ensure entrepreneurial fashion design companies grow into self-sustaining businesses, has established a unique partnership with Miki Design Studio. AFi Education Partners are individuals or organizations that provide professional development and career training to entrepreneurs on behalf of the Atlanta Fashion Incubator. Miki Design Studio, a fashion apparel design and production facility in Doraville, Georgia, will serve as an AFi Education Partner throughout 2015 and offer pattern making courses.

“By aligning with distinguished brands such as Miki Design Studio, the Atlanta Fashion Incubator is able to provide quality programming and professional development opportunities to entrepreneurs,” states Dominiqui N. Southall, Executive Director of the Atlanta Fashion Incubator. “With Miki Design Studio as an Education Partner we are proud to offer industry specific training that will positively impact and better equip Atlanta talent for careers in fashion and design.”

The pattern making courses will begin Saturday, August 1 with Pattern Making I: Womenswear. Through the 8-week curriculum students will measure the human form, build a custom-fit sloper, and develop a unique pattern. Pattern Making I: Menswear, a 5-week course especially suited for menswear fit and pattern creation, will begin October 3. Pattern Making II: Innovation will cover advanced pattern manipulation techniques and guide students through the production of technically advanced patterns and garments. The 3-week course will begin November 7.
