Follow on Google News | Lord Mayor of Bradford Recognises AchievementBy: Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise College Attending the presentation was The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Joanne Dodds who awarded the students for their hard work, commitment and participation in the project that has resulted in them achieving bronze level, which is the first level of Rugby training. The girls, who have attended training whilst fasting in the month of Ramadan, have taken to the training and are looking forward to competing at the next level representing the College in next year’s Champion Schools competition. Saima Hussain, England’s first Asian female Rugby League player, and lead coach at Bradford Youth Development, with Paul March, Head Coach at Keighley Cougars, have been working with the group of Year 7 girls for just a few months which culminated in their first away match at Holy Family school in Keighley. Lee Allington, Head of PE at Laisterdyke said “The girls have exceeded all training expectations in such a short space of time. We are immensely proud of their achievements and the presentation is in recognition of this.” End
