Learn to Surf LA Gives Braille Institute Students the Gift of Surfing

LOS ANGELES - July 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Venice, CA, June 30, 2015:  For instructors at Learn to Surf LA, a local surf lessons and camp company based in Venice Beach, helping students feel confident and master the art of surfing is one of the biggest joys of the job. For twelve years, the surf school has helped thousands of students catch their first wave in Santa Monica, Venice, and Manhattan Beach. “Our instructors love sharing their passion for surfing,” said Patrick Murphy, owner and founder of Learn to Surf LA.

The surf school believes that everyone should have a chance to experience the excitement of surfing. That’s why for the school has partnered up with the Braille Institute to guide students through a fun day of complimentary surf lessons. The Braille Institute is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to eliminate barriers to a fulfilling life caused by blindness and serve sight loss. The Braille Institute serves more than 75,000 people across the United States, and has 220 Community Outreach locations across Southern California.

The Braille Institute students will be out at Manhattan Beach on July 2^nd  at 9:30 am for a fun day of lessons with the Learn to Surf LA team. “We love supporting such an amazing cause,” said Murphy. “Every student at the Braille Institute is so inspiring; it is so incredible to see them have a blast while learning to surf.”
