SiteLock Named to Prestigious Online Trust Alliance’s Honor Roll

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - June 16, 2015 - PRLog -- SiteLock, LLC (www.sitelock.com), the global leader in website security, announced today that they have qualified for the prestigious Online Trust Honor Roll of the Online (https://www.otalliance.org/) Trust Alliance (https://www.otalliance.org/) (OTA), a leading non-profit organization dedicated to building online trust.  Honor Roll members are named for having shown a commitment to best practices in security, privacy and consumer protection.

OTA’s 7th annual audit evaluated nearly 1000 websites for adoption of best practices in security, consumer / brand protection and privacy. Despite setting the most difficult criteria yet for its audit, OTA reported that 44 percent of the websites it evaluated across multiple industries qualified for OTA’s 2015 Honor Roll, a significant improvement over last year’s 30 percent. Still, 46 percent of examined websites failed outright, while another 10 percent didn’t perform strongly enough to earn Honor Roll status. A failure indicates the site is vulnerable to an existing online security threat, is not adequately protecting consumers from phishing and other social engineering threats, and/or has insufficient privacy policies and inadequate disclosure notices.
