McGladrey 5K Donates $152,975 to Three Square Food Bank

LAS VEGAS - June 5, 2015 - PRLog -- McGladrey LLP – the nation's leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – announced today, following a recent 5K, that the firm’s partners and principals raised $152,975 for Three Square, Southern Nevada’s only food bank providing food assistance to residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark counties.

The 5K was part of McGladrey’s celebration of the firm’s upcoming 90th anniversary, and the launch of its firm wide charitable foundation, which is focused on building tomorrow’s middle market leaders by supporting programs focused on education, as well as organizations serving youth in the areas of hunger, housing and health in the communities where McGladrey employees live and work. Stewardship has been a core principle for McGladrey since the firm’s inception in 1926.

“We are excited to kick off our 90th year with an event such as this, and proud to have established a foundation to showcase our value of stewardship,” said Doug Opheim, chairman of the McGladrey Foundation Board of Directors. “I’m pleased that we were able to take a couple of hours out of our biannual partner meeting here in Las Vegas to give back and support Three Square’s outstanding childhood nutrition programs. It’s our way of saying ‘thanks’ to the city for providing such a wonderful backdrop for our meeting.”

McGladrey (http://www.mcgladrey.com/) has a long history of stewardship; one that is highlighted each year through the firm’s annual Volunteer Day and through the annual McGladrey Classic, a PGA TOUR event that has raised more than $2.7 million for charitable organizations since the tournament began five years ago.
