CAMMS MD demonstrates how Service Review can create sustainable NSW LG

NEWCASTLE, Australia - May 28, 2015 - PRLog -- CAMMSFounder and Managing Director, Joe Collins’ presentation on how Service Review is a critical tool for the future of Local Government in New South Wales was received with enthusiasm by participants at the LG Finance Conference in Hunter Valley.

To lay the foundation for a stronger system of local government in NSW, the State Government in 2014 adopted a "Fit for the Future" reform, calling for financially sustainable Councils. Accordingly, Collins’ described how Service Reviews can ensure Councils achieve sustainability, efficiency and effective management despite increasing budget cuts and stringent regulations that local governments in NSW face.

“Salami slicing to stay afloat will have a long term detrimental effect on Councils by causing increased risk, service chaos, underperformance and wastage. Service Review is the ultimate tool to enhance Council improvement and ensure better quality and value for money services,” explains Collins.

Organised by Local Government Professionals Australia, NSW, LG Finance 2015, held from the 20^th – 22^nd May, focused on increasing knowledge and understanding for LG finance professionals on how best to tackle issues confronting local government.

CAMMS also demonstrated its best practice Business Improvement and Service Review tool RevuMap, which was well received especially as it complies with the Service Review philosophy of NSW.
