Students and Writers are the single biggest groups spreading hashtag #BaltimoreRiots

White, racist and propaganda among the most frequent terms used

April 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Protests and violence last night in Baltimore were also reflected on Twitter. People used the hashtag #BaltimoreRiots to tweet from all over the nation. According to Buzzmonitor (http://getBuzzmonitor.com), a tool for Social Data Analysis, circa 70,000 people tweeted 110,000 times the hashtag #BaltimoreRiots. Influential Twitter accounts such as the one below helped spread the buzz across the country.

An analysis of the Bio of the users, the field that people typically enter a personal description on Twitter, shows 1,005 people who described themselves as students and 842 as writers on the collected data. Among the most frequent terms are:  propaganda, white and racist. 80% of the people giving their location are in New York, Washington, Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta.

Opinions on tweets are ranging from criticism on the Police, but also on the use of violence by protesters. Another group criticizes the media for focusing on this violent minority.
