AdvantaPure(R) Publishes White Papers on Clean Room Fluid Transfer and Tubing Selection

The papers were developed to aid users of tubing and fluid transfer systems with their decision making processes. Written by Tony Butler, the company’s Single-Use Applications Manager, it explains traditional operations using hard piping and movable totes and the difficulties that can occur with them. The report then notes how Single-Use practices and components can be incorporated for improvement. A second report examines tubing materials commonly used for biopharma and pharmaceutical processing. It offers ten tips on what design engineers and purchasers should look for and investigate during the tubing selection process, such as tubing ingredients, extractables and peristaltic pump use. AdvantaPure’s third paper focuses on the challenges of container closures and their critical role in liquid transfer processes. Considerations such as industry standards that must be met, the ability to withstand a variety of sterilization methods, and materials of construction are noted.

A fourth report comparing tube sets made from barbed fittings with assemblies manufactured using molded connections is nearing completion.
