Panel Discussion on E-Commerce at Heritage Business School Kolkata

KOLKATA, India - April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- The Panelists were : Dr Ranjan Das, ex-IIM Kolkata and MD of The Strategy Academy, Mr Supriyo Sinha, VP and Head of the ABP Group, Mr Sandip Khazanchi, Leader, IBM, Mr Subroto Kumar Ray, General Manager and Company Secretary, MSTC Ltd and Mr Abhijit Lal Roy of United Spirits. The Moderator was Prof. Subbroto Bhadury, Professor at the Heritage Business School.In their deliberations, the Panelists traced the phenomenal growth of E Commerce from its modest beginnings in 1972 to a 27 Trillion USD market in 2014. They discussed the advantages and disadvantages of E - Commerce transactions as opposed to brick and mortar trade and concluded that inspite of the lack of direct visual observation and touch, the advantages and transparencies of E Commerce transactions have helped this market to grow at a phenomenal rate. Today, all Government Purchases above a certain level are compulsorily done through E Commerce. Even the Education Industry is switching over to the Satellite enabled Mode of Virtual Classrooms.
