Local Martial Arts Instructor Rises To The Rank Of Master!

Academy Also Promotes 6 New Black Belts & Has 4 Grand Champions At Regional Tournament!
 
MENLO PARK, Calif. - April 1, 2015 - PRLog -- MENLO PARK, Calif. – Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park, the Premier Martial Arts and Character Development Academy on the Mid-Peninsula (http://menloparkmartialarts.com), today announced the promotion of Kristin Quintana to 5th Degree Master (Pyung Kwan Jang Nim). She was promoted by the Grand Master of Kuk Sool Won™, Kuk Sa Nim In Hyuk Suh, this past Saturday at the Pacific Coast Tournament in Folsom, CA.  This achievement marks more than 20 years of training.

Master Quintana has been the Owner and Chief Instructor at Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park for almost 12 years and is a two-time Grand Champion.   As Chief Instructor she is in charge of curriculum development in the school and oversees every class. Parents and Grandparents love her teaching style.  Master Quintana brings more than 15 years of experience in teaching martial arts to children and adults to the Menlo Park community.

“I have been watching my Granddaughter for three classes now, and I find it amazing how the instructor is able to lead and teach these young kids while maintaining discipline in a fun and safe environment” says the Grandfather of a 6 year old White Belt.

6 New Black Belts

Kuk Sool Won™ of Menlo Park also promoted six new 1st Degree Black Belts at the Tournament. Included in the six was Master Quintana’s husband and school co-owner, Richard Quintana who is in charge of the marketing for the Academy. The other 5 new Black Belts are teenagers, Esveide Gonzalez (age 14), Natalie Park (age 15), Devin Peterson (age 15), Garrett Pohlman (age 15), and Lexie Kemp-Dahlberg (age 17). Getting a Black Belt in Kuk Sool Won™ is a great accomplishment. The road to Black Belt is an amazing journey and it takes an average of 5.5 years to get there. It takes a lot of hard work and practice and each test teaches you more about yourself and what you can accomplish.

4 Grand Champions

The Academy also took third place at the 2015 Pacific Coast Tournament in a field of more than 20 schools. Contributing to this standing were 4 Grand Champions:  Nishant Relan won the 2nd Degree Black Belt ages 13-17 Grand Champion, Jessica Ellwood won the Women’s 1st Degree Black Belt ages 18-40 Grand Champion, Annika Peterson won girl’s 1st Degree Black Belt ages 13-17 Grand Champion, and Shawn Li won the boy’s 1st Degree Black Belt ages 13-17 Grand Champion.   The instructors and parents are extremely proud of the while team and expectably of these for impressive young men and women.
