International Modern Hospital organizes Women’s Leadership Conclave on International Women’s Day

Dubai 8^th March 2015: International Modern Hospital, a Unit of Sunrise Group of Hospitals, organized a Women Leadership Conclave to mark International Women’s Day, bringing together women experts from different fields to talk about inspiration, leadership and the fight for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

The experts who are Women Achievers, Thought Leaders from various fields included

Dr. Alaa Nasser Al Wahili (Specialist Gynecologist) Dr. Jannat Nasser Al Wahili (Personal Life coach) Ms. Meriem Mattar (CEO & Founder of UAE Genetic Foundation) and Ms. Lisa Durante (Editor –in –chief New You Health

They were led by panelists from a variety of sectors
and backgrounds that included Single women, Married Women, or a Cancer Survivors an Indian Ladies Club Chief Members and a Journalist.

The panelists discussed topics with the experts seeking inspiration, tips, advice and perspectives to empower and lift women to the next levels of success. The topics included.

·         Role of women in different fields and its importance.

·         Gender equality/women equality: Are women having equal opportunities and responsibilities in various aspects of life i.e. in the work environment

·         The transition of women from the past to the present. What are the differences in the challenges being faced by women of today and women of yesterday (25 years back)

·         Where do we see women in 15 to 20 years?

·         Women’s role and importance in the modern nuclear family instead of the traditional joint family.

·         What is the importance of health
and fitness in the life of a leading female?

·         What are some of the challenges that women face in their life throughout their transitions from a child to an elderly woman.

·         Do you think the problem faced by women represent the TIP of the Iceberg? If so, what can be done?

The deliberation invited women to share
knowledge, ask questions, and come together to tackle professional and personal blocks.

The experts felt confident that this dynamic and relevant event will present women’s issues to a diverse online audience, and allow everyone to get involved regardless of their location, employment
or commitments.

Speaking about the debate, Medical Director & Senior Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Sebastian said IMH chose these specific women because of their interest in personal development and desire to empower. They each bring a unique perspective through different life experiences spanning across Health & Fitness, Media, Business entrepreneurship and Homemakers which I know will appeal to many.
