March 10, 2015 - PRLog -- For over 150 years, KONI have been helping to keep vehicles on the road and riding smoothly. This year, the KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping), one of the most advanced shock absorbers on the market, will be on the new Opel Corsa OPC for drivers to be able to experience the superior handling that the KONI FSD shocks offer.

The new Opel Corsa OPC is now launched in Geneva and is one of the most exciting vehicles on the road. With its superb styling and great interior design, the Corsa is a true European vehicle. The OPC is equipped with a turbocharged, 1.6 liter, r engine and a six speed manual transmission. The 2015 performance Corsa is a total redesign from previous versions, with all of the strengths of its predecessors and the addition of a sportier engine and overall design. Created to be both sexy and utilitarian, the 2015 Opel OPC is destined to be a classic in the long line of classic Opel vehicles.

“The inclusion of the FSD on the Opel Corsa OPC will allow drivers to experience the same control and performance that race car drivers feel. The key to great driving, whether in the high pressure of racing or simply on a daily commute, is the combination of performance and comfort. That’s precisely what the KONI FSD offers.” – Mauro Salini, General Manager, KONI Group

The KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology is a patented advance in shock absorbing technology. This new development offers firm control during cornering and large body motions. It also offers soft motion over rough roads and expansion joints. This combination comes from a unique multi-valve design that provides adsorption and compression over different compression frequencies at the same time.

“The KONI FSD shock absorber is able to respond to high frequency areas that need low damping forces, as well as low frequency areas that require high damping forces. At KONI, we don’t believe that you should sacrifice comfort for performance, or vice versa. The FSD was designed for a vehicle, like the Corsa OPC, for precisely this reason.”  – Mauro Salini, General Manager, KONI Group

With more than 150 years' experience in the area of shock absorber solutions, KONI has the know-how to optimise a vehicle's driving feeling and handling. As a part of ITT Motion Technologies KONI develops, manufactures and markets high-class performance shock absorbers for all types of cars and commercial vehicles such as rail vehicles, buses, trucks and trailers.
