Patricia Arquette has been invited to speak at the UN Women’s Conference in New York on March 10, 2015. The film’s director, Kamala Lopez, will be accompanying Patricia to the UN events.

The film’s release, Equal Means Equal, has been highly anticipated following a short preview of the film when it was brought to the Michigan Theatre by Laurita Thomas, a VP at the University of Michigan. The event’s organizer, Pam Palmieri, stated “the domestic violence snippet from the film had such an impact on the attendees in the filled theatre, that they have been eager to see the full film upon its release.”

The film’s director, Kamala Lopez, is being honored as Woman of the Year for Media and Arts by the Los Angeles County Commission for Women on March 9th, 2015 for her work.
